Revolution Day

Today is a holiday in Afghanistan that celebrates the departure of the Soviet army in 1989. Lots of speechs and parades around the country.

one wonders how different the world would be today, had the soviets never bumbled in there.

Interesting. Maybe the Taliban would not have risen, but maybe the USSR would still be intact.
