FOB Strong

We are now on Foward Operating Base Army Strong (FOB Strong), located at Camp Funston on Fort Riley KS. All O-4s and below share the barracks space with large rooms containing 40 bunks. A symphony of snoring every night. HumVees as far as the eye can see, some with 50 cal mounts. At some point, we go on convoys and patrols. To add to the realism, there are daily calls to Muslim prayer on the loudspeakers.

Locally, we are called the Narmy (Navy-Army) and will be instructed by junior line Army officers and senior enlisted. They have expressed their gratitude for our help.

Hmmm. FOB Strong. I wonder if this is related to the Army's current slogan, Army Strong!?

The compliment on the Navy's help was sincere?

Are you a mixed (purple) group? Or all Navy?

Full name is Forward Operating Base Army Strong, so yes, a play on their recruiting slogan. Our team is pure Navy but are instructed by Army. There are Army teams and Air Force teams as well with their own missions.
