My orders showed today. I will visit Norfolk VA for initial processing (is that like a food processor?), then head to Ft. Riley in Kansas to play soldier for a while. We then go to Kuwait for further training and adjusting to the 9 time-zone change. After about 10 days in Kuwait, we will be "boots down" in Afghanistan. Six others from Naval Hospital Pensacola will take the journey as well, representing surgery, dentistry, nursing and medical corpsmen. In the meantime, tons of paperwork, vaccines and squaring away the personal life. Uniform of the day will always be the Desert Camouflage Uniform (DCU).
