Holidays missed
Two of our corpsmen put up decorations for Halloween last October, the first "decorative" holiday since our arrival last September. They decided to leave them up and add new ones as the holidays rolled by. Shown are the results. We missed Halloween, Thanksgiving, Hanukkah,Winter Solstice, Christmas, Kwanzaa, New Year's, MLK, Valentine's, St. Patrick's Day, Spring, Easter, Memorial Day and 4th of July. We will be home by Labor Day. Booyah!

I just wanted to thank you for your blog. I had a friend based at Camp Stone who came home in May. Being able to see the pictures you posted and your description of events (especially the days during the winter when you had no power) made me feel a little better. I hope you all have a safe completion of your mission and that you have a great time celebrating Labor Day AT HOME with your families and friends.
Thanks! Who was your friend? There are a few hundred US military here, plus Italians, Spanish and Slovenians, but I might know your friend.
He was part of the Iowa National Guard crew that was there, Major Coble.
I get my dad back soon :D :D :D
